  82.  I went with the FT-530.  It just has too may features I could not
  83. resist.  One of the things I was looking at is what the Sr. Ham's were
  84. buying (Those who have had two, three, four, or more HT's)  There's a
  85. joke about all the Ft-530 owners starting there own net, due to the fact
  86. there are so many in use.

  148. I have the Heathkit 232, which is the kit version of AEA's PK 232.
  149. I use paKet 5.1 and have found it really user friendly and very compatable

  169. There was a message on packet that said they'd be on the air at noon
  170. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 7232,7240,14300,14342, and 21417.
  171. This information was apparently garnered by someone listening to the
  172. Baja Maritime Net.  The calls to be used are KB6YYL/MM2 or W6PW/MM2,
  173. according to the same message.  I'll call the office tomorrow and see
  174. if they have anything more solid.

  184. Monday the SS Jeremiah O'Brien left San Francisco for Normandy for the
  185. festivities being held June 6 to comemorate the 25th anniversary of the
  186. Normandy invasion. This is the last operating Liberty Ship, and is crewed
  187. by volunteers. Does anybody know if they have an amateur operation? Any
  188. info about call signs, skeds, etc. would be appreciated.

  197.    I've completed the latest round of revisions to the frequency lists
  198.    and Chris Novy has posted the updated lists at the usual source.

  200.  1) Storm Spotting Frequencies:   SPOTFREQ.DOC
  201.    Ham radio and Civil Defense frequencies which have carried useful info 
  202.    during severe weather are listed, primarily in the 2m band.   The list 
  203.    focuses on the Plains States where most of the mobile spotting is done.
  204.    The area is roughly within a line from E. Wyoming to Indiana to 
  205.    Alabama to SW Texas to Wyoming.

  207.  2) TV radar info:  CHASE-TV.DOC
  208.    VHF TV stations and UHF repeaters are listed, along with comments 
  209.    about radar and weather warning display capabilities (where known).  
  210.    The Plains States are covered. The area is roughly within a line from
